Administrative Assistant - Journals Manufacturing

About the Role

Join our Journals Manufacturing team as an Administrative Assistant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the Senior Manufacturing Controller Journals (SMJC) with the smooth running of our fast-paced print journal operations. This position is to ensure systems are kept accurate and up to date for stakeholders and vendors, with full training provided to help you understand the interconnected processes. A key accountability of the role involves timely and precise processing of supplier invoices, alongside assisting with manufacturing orders and financial data retrieval.

You’ll also contribute to projects aimed at improving efficiency as the business evolves. Key responsibilities include updating journal systems with manufacturing and dispatch data, supporting stakeholder queries, coordinating orders, and monitoring reporting for the Journals POD program. The role also involves working with Inventory on journal reprint tasks and providing cover during leave periods.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience or knowledge of a journals publishing environment
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to learn quickly and work flexibly with varied software
  • Good IT skills
