JOB VACANCY

Associate Marketing Manager

We are the world’s largest university press. That means we serve the academic community as no other publisher can. We work in partnership with institutions and learned societies to bring a world of knowledge to the fingertips of students and researchers worldwide.

The goal is impact. Together with our academic communities, we curate and seamlessly connect together the ideas that push their fields forward, so they can learn from them, add to them, and continue a virtuous cycle of scholarship.

And because we are a part of the academic community and guided in everything we do by our mission, we re-invest in our people, our publishing, and the world-leading research institution of which we are part.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with our product team to develop positioning, messaging and marketing strategies for a product portfolio. You’ll create launch plans and work with marketing colleagues to deliver them, working collaboratively to drive demand and usage. You’ll also ensure that sales and other customer facing teams have the language and tools they need to successfully land products in the market.

This role is ideally suited to someone who wants to be at the forefront of our strategy and mission, gaining valuable experience of collaborating with a wide range of functions across the publishing process.

Duties will include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of your product portfolio and its audiences, to become the subject matter expert for the sales and marketing teams
  • Developing and implementing product marketing strategies, aligned to business priorities, taking a data-driven and experimental approach to ensure success
  • Advocating for external stakeholder needs in the product development process, whilst navigating multiple priorities to drive the best outcome for each product
  • Taking complex ideas and/or technical developments, and creating a compelling brand and story to take to market, ensuring it is consistently used across all channels
  • Developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns, including budget management and reporting on success

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

  • Experience of developing product marketing strategies or delivering marketing campaigns for products, taking a data-driven and experimental approach
  •
  • Ability to think strategically about products and markets on a global level
  • Ability to work independently within a framework to deliver marketing strategies to a high standard
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaborative skills, including the ability to make connections and build relationships within and outside of marketing
  • Demonstrable understanding of product development lifecycles, product launch processes, and ability to represent user and customer needs is desirable
  • Experience of academic publishing and understanding of the institutional research landscape is desirable
