About the Role

As an Assistant Marketing Manager in our dynamic team, you will work across the portfolio of Oxford University Press’s digital products. You will manage a team of marketers and be responsible for planning and implementing integrated B2B marketing campaigns into libraries in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for developing marketing strategies for your regions, effectively managing your team to reach departmental and divisional goals, planning and leading a range of digital marketing campaigns, conducting campaign analysis, and budget management.

The role is extremely varied and necessitates strong initiative, organisation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand product and territory objectives; prepare marketing plans which adopt appropriate B2B tactics; implement plans and analyse results; and proactively develop detailed market knowledge and product expertise.
  • Strong communication with Sales to ensure Sales and Marketing plans are aligned
  • Recruit, train and manage staff; delegate work; assist more senior managers to ensure high levels of performance across the team and meet team goals and objectives.
  • Formulate and manage marketing budgets for your regions
  • Manage conference organization in all regions

About You

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have proven marketing experience, including selecting, implementing, and analysing results of marketing activities. Digital marketing experience essential.
  • Experience of creating marketing plans and the ability to delegate to others to deliver them
  • Experience budgeting and tracking expenses
  • Ability to assess priorities and balance resources across a list of products and/or markets
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, clear communication and boundary setting
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including editing and copywriting

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of creative content marketing and social media channels
  • Knowledge of publishing industry
