Assistant Publisher

About the role

We have a unique role which would enable you to get involved with both the publishing and policy side of Open Access; our team, within Academic, manages and develops the Press’s Open Access journals publishing and policy projects.

You will be responsible for supporting the team that manages and develops the Press’s Journals Open Access programme.

A typical day could involve any of these responsibilities:

  • Supporting the implementation of strategic development plans for a list of titles
  • Being responsible for collating and interpreting data at title level/portfolio level and across the market and industry
  • Providing administrative and problem-solving support for the team
  • Supporting list management, ensuring journal and divisional targets are achieved

About you

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Journals publishing experience with the willingness and the ability to innovate, think critically, and use results to guide decisions
  • The ability to analyse data and present results accurately and clearly
  • The ability to work independently, make decisions, and plan and prioritise your own workload
  • Familiarity with budgeting and pricing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with online research
