Data Team Leader

Part of the Ed-UK Technology Group, the Ed-UK Business Partner Group is responsible for training and support for many of our Ed-UK divisional systems, including the creation and improvement of core title data, which drives business processes and powers customer facing technology.

We are in need of a Data Team Leader to inspire and lead our operational data team, to deliver high quality information to our customers. Reporting to the Ed-UK Data Manager, the core areas of the role include:

  • Creation, maintenance and improvement of master reference data, in an efficient and timely manner, across multiple systems
  • Line management of our operational data team, to ensure data tasks are prioritised and delivered to the highest possible standard
  • Proactively engaging with other departments to improve data and enhance data processes, to ensure it is of the best quality from source
  • Work with all internal customers to identify areas of improvement of best practices and processes relating to master reference data (e.g. standardisation of data, automation, training)
  • Analysis and resolution of complex problems to enhance and improve the quality of information, provided to internal and external customers
  • Identifying areas of improvement within the Data Team, to enhance and improve data quality and the efficiency
  • Promoting the importance of good quality data, ensuring it is seen as a valuable asset across the business

About You

You will:

  • Enjoy working within a collaborative, team environment
  • Love working with data and understand its importance within modern business
  • Be inquisitive and curious about Ed-UK data and the impact it has upon our customers
  • Be well-organised with the ability to effectively communicate, prioritise and manage your team’s workload
  • Have the ability to confidently communicate at all levels of the business, translating technical information, into every day language
  • Be an advocate of positive change and resilient to it’s challenges
  • Continuously encourage learning and development

Ideally you will also have:

  • Excellent operational knowledge of SAP
  • Experience of analysing and managing large volumes of data
  • Have strong systems understanding to include excellent MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Training skills
  • Knowledge of the publishing industry
  • Exposure to line management experience, though training and support will be provide
