Desk Editor - FTC

About the Role

Please note this is a 9 month FTC / Secondment

This is an exciting opportunity for a Desk Editor to join the Primary Maths team, reporting to the Publisher, Primary Maths supporting the delivery of the MathsBeat programme. The Desk Editor will take specific print and digital projects through the production process and problem-solve to ensure that the resources publish on time.

Externally the role will engage with authors, awarding bodies, freelance editors, reviewers, advisors, teachers, learners and customers.

Bringing strong editorial skills to this role other responsibilities will include

About You

If you’re an experienced Editor with a passion for maths, education and publishing looking for a new challenge in a supportive, creative and innovative team, then this opportunity will interest you.

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • High levels of literacy and numeracy
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills


  • Experience of teaching in the school types for which we produce resources
  • Experience of educational publishing.
  • Higher level STEM qualification (A-level, AS level or equivalent)
