About the Role
In this varied role you’ll be working with an experienced and supportive team where you’ll be responsible for providing operational support and reporting to facilitate execution of day-to-day process and account management of UK based and global freight partners.
You’ll support continuous improvement to simplify freight and associated process, including the development of opportunities delivering environmental good practice. Key responsibilities of the role include:
Creating and processing PO’s through core systems for freight services for shipments
Create customer freight and shipment preparation charges based on agreed rates
Working directly with freight providers and OUP accounts payable to resolve issues
Analysing UK inbound freight cost by business unit across air and ocean
Creating KPI data
Supporting month end processes using SAP
Maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
This role is based in the Kettering office and requires office attendance. Working from home on occasion is offered.
About You
You’ll have a solid understanding of shipping and freight processes, the charging process and rate cards. You will also have:
Essential:
Experience working in and freight/logistics environment
Experience working with ERP systems
The ability to work independently
Experience of using MS Excel to a medium to high level
Good communication skills with the ability to maintain and make positive relationships internally and externally
Good priority management skills, able to deliver work under pressure and against various deadlines
Able to generate accurate and timely data to support financial, operational and service-related freight process
Desirable:
Experience managing freight shipments by air, ocean, road and parcel services
Global freight experience
SAP knowledge and/or experience or other ERP systems
Proven experience of dealing with external stakeholders.
