Functional Consultant, Order to Cash

About the Role

Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is responsible for the delivery of all IT Services needed to run the Press, including Infrastructure, End User Services & Enterprise Applications.  The Back Office team are responsible for the design, delivery and operational performance of the portfolio of applications which serve our Finance, Group Functions, Operations & Publishing teams including responsibility for integration services.

The OTC Functional Consultant is a critical role within the Back Office organisation and is the owner of the technical implementation of our business process across the end-to-end set of applications and integrations which underpin them.

The Functional Consultant will work closely with the Global Process Lead (GPL), who is responsible for business process strategy, design, governance and performance.   They will support the GPL by identifying business requirements and shaping the design for the technology solution in line with best practice, taking care to ensure there is no unintended impact to downstream systems.  

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for the technology implementation of the business process across the end-to-end set of applications and integrations.
  • Responsible for partnering with Global Process Leads to provide effective technology consultancy services whilst establishing and building a strong collaborative relationship based on trust.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a full set of technical documentation
  • Responsible for the operational performance of the technology services underpinning the business process
  • Responsible for the production of high level solution designs and working with 3rd parties to ensure that detailed designs are fit for purpose and on track to meet the expected technical and business outcomes.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

About You

You will have the following:

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a global environment with multiple executive stakeholders
  • Strategy planning, enterprise portfolio development and management experience
  • Experience shaping, advising on, and delivering global transformation programmes
  • A proven ability to deliver projects/ programmes and an understanding of the need to work with business change management functions to embed change in an effective manner
  • Experience of delivery, tracking and reporting to senior executives complex portfolio programmes
  • Deep domain knowledge and experience
  • Technical project management qualifications are desirable
