About the Role

We’re looking for someone to join us as Head of Health, Safety and Security (HSS) to lead and advise on the health, safety and security (personnel and facilities) risks associated with our business and operations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring clear HSS objectives are defined, communicated, monitored and reported
  • Ensuring all HSS policies and documents remain fit for purpose
  • Implementing a high level business continuity and disaster recovery framework

  • Promoting a positive HSS culture, including through the delivery of effective training

It’s a small team with a global remit, so there’ll be some travel required. We believe that the skills you bring to OUP are just a starting point. We want you to have the opportunity to expand your abilities, and innovate and develop in areas which both interest you, and support your aspirations.

About You

To be successful in this role you’ll be:

  • NEBOSH Diploma level qualified, or equivalent
  • A chartered/graduate member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

  • Experienced in applying HSS principles across a range of global workplace environments
  • Experienced with risk management, including assessment of sites
  • Confident interacting with and briefing colleagues at all levels

This role offers private medical insurance, a car/allowance, and bonus.

We offer 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), and a 35-hour working week, along with the flexibility to start and finish late or early as required.

Our pension contribution is up to 11%.

Wellbeing is really important to us so we also have a wide range of facilities including an onsite canteen, an onsite gym and coffee shops.
