Head of Strategic Sourcing and Partnerships

About the Role

We’re currently looking for a Head of Strategic Sourcing and Partnerships to join our Oxford Languages department. This role will lead on third party content, tools and services for use in our publishing, licensing, and research activities, as well as the development and implementation of key strategic partnerships.

You’ll work in partnership with teams across the whole department to identify, prioritise and secure opportunities that accelerate our progress to fulfil our vision and strategic goals. This will involve:

  • Setting the strategic direction and priorities for sourcing and partnerships
  • Developing, implementing and embedding acquisitions and partnerships workflows and processes
  • Researching new products and suppliers, arranging for quality checks and evaluating bids
  • Establishing quality guidelines and monitoring those standards
  • Managing and developing high level relationships with existing and potential partners

We’re able to offer some flexibility such as home-working for this role. There will also be a requirement for some travel.

About You

To be successful in this role you’ll be able to build great relationships quickly and become a trusted advisor to your customers/partners.

You’ll also have:

  • Demonstrable networking skills and ability to build and leverage a strong network of internal and external contacts
  • Familiarity with rights and intellectual property matters and experience of managing deals
  • A track record of ensuring continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • An understanding of financials and financial management
  • Experience of developing teams in multiple georgraphies

It would be beneficial if you have Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership.
