Marketing Assistant

Oxford Dictionaries, part of the Global Academic division of Oxford University Press, develops, publishes, and licenses lexical content to meet the needs of the rapidly changing technology markets. Our digital business is a core part of what we do and we have the aim of developing our offering to be the best language data provider in the world.

The Dictionaries B2B and Commercial Partnerships Marketing team is a developing team tasked with contributing to the growth of the Dictionaries licensing programme. We work to understand the markets we are active in, discover new markets and customers alongside creating engaged and positive partnerships with existing customers. Our markets are international and our customers range from the leading technology companies to innovative growing start-ups and individuals with a passion for language data and technology.

This is a busy and wide ranging marketing role within a team with significant opportunities for growth and development.

  • Developing a sound knowledge of our products and processes.
  • Administrating customer queries in a timely and efficient manner, to uphold and improve the reputation of OUP as a customer-focused business.
  • Managing various social media accounts, scheduling posts, responding to interactions with people and businesses, and looking for opportunities for extra exposure.
  • Sourcing/creating and editing images.
  • Contributing campaign ideas and concepts
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with bloggers and journalists.
  • Keeping the wider teams informed of developments in your areas of responsibility.

About you

You’ll have a passion for social, be excited by innovation in digital, and be intuitive about what works in the space. You’ll be a great written and verbal communicator, and able to explain complex situations in a succinct and accurate way. You will be motivated and a proactive communicator, seeking conversations and asking questions to identify solutions to problems and improvements to processes.
