Marketing Assistant x 2

This role sits within the Global Academic division who are responsible for publishing books, journals, and digital resources for the research, professional, and higher education markets.

About the Role

As a Marketing Assistant in our dynamic team, you will work across the portfolio of Oxford University Press’s digital products. In this role you will be assisting members of the team to help implement marketing campaigns into libraries in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities will include supporting members of the department to market our digital products across different territories and liaising with external and internal stakeholders, including the institutional sales teams. This is a varied role and we are looking for someone with creativity, good organisation skills, and attention to detail.

An interest in digital marketing within publishing and the ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders are highly desirable.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assisting other members of the team with elements of their marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix
  • Developing good market knowledge, with responsibility for supporting campaigns to libraries in Europe, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand
  • Working with external designers to create marketing materials across print, web, social media, and email
  • Assisting with conference organization and attending international conferences and meetings
  • Working on creative content marketing campaigns across multiple social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr), including the OUPblog
  • Liaising closely with colleagues across the business to ensure that goals are met, high quality campaigns are delivered on time and within budget

About You

The ideal candidate will:              

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and with external stakeholders
  • Be well organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize a busy workload


  • Knowledge of the publishing industry
  • Desktop publishing (InDesign)
  • Knowledge of the higher education market
  • Knowledge of digital marketing
