Marketing Executive

About Oxford University Press

OUP have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We’ve always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology of the time, and the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

If you’re a Marketing Executive / Assistant, this is a great opportunity to join OUP, and step up to the next level. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing marketing strategies across our well-respected Math and Computing sciences journals throughout the UK and US. It’s an exciting time as this is a growth area for us. You’ll be happy working with a high level of autonomy, knowing your manager & colleagues are there for support as needed.

Duties of this role will include:

  • Development and implementation of strategic marketing plans and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of key content strategies.
  • Ownership of Marketing for a portfolio of circa 20 journals.
  • Analysis and reporting.
  • Market knowledge and continuous improvement.

We’re all currently working from home at the moment due to COVID.  We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this, such as a blend of office and home working.

About You

You’ll enjoy all aspects of Marketing, and will have the ability to remain calm under pressure.  You don’t need to have a publishing background, as we can teach you all about our amazing industry, but an interest in Math and or Computer science would be advantageous.

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital and social media.
  • Project management approach and the ability to prioritize a heavy workload with maximum attention to detail.
  • Good use of Microsoft Office and other Marketing tools.

We really care about your work / life balance here at OUP. With this in mind, we offer a salary of £20,000 to £23,000 depending on your skills and experience, 25 days’ holiday that rises with service, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (3-days) and a 35-hour working week. We are open to discussing flexibility in respect of working hours and the use of technology to support regular remote working. We also have an on-site gym with subsidized membership fees and a great variety of active employee networks and societies.

We help make your money go further by contributing up to 11% to your pension, offering loans and savings schemes through our partnership with Salary Finance, in addition to travel to work schemes and access to a wide range of local discounts.

Please see our Rewards and Recognition page for more information.
