Marketing Manager

The Academic Division publishes books, journals and digital resources for the research, professional and higher education markets.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and ensuring the successful implementation of integrated marketing strategy across one or more disciplines in our print & digital publishing program in the Humanities.  

The Marketing Manager is a key member of the team and will take on a management and/or mentoring role in the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement global integrated marketing strategy, including but not limited to:
    • Content Marketing
    • Social Media and Community
    • E-mail
    • Partnerships
    • Event strategy
    • Digital Marketing
    • Advertising
    • Merchandising
    • SEO / SEM
  • Develop and execute product-specific global / regional marketing plans
  • Manage assigned marketing budget
  • Deliver marketing performance against targets and key metrics, demonstrated through in-depth analysis and reporting; ensure marketing KPIs are met
  • Present key products to key stakeholders (e.g. sales, key partners) with an in-depth understanding and knowledge of products, including core audience.
  • Fulfill mentoring role for Oxford-based Humanities marketing team, which includes 3-4 marketing staff. 

About you

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have significant experience of marketing or marketing product management
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal), influence decisions, and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Have experience of managing and/or mentoring staff
  • Demonstrate strong digital marketing and content marketing skills
  • Be able to balance a variety of responsibilities and handle many projects simultaneously, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Be willing and able work remotely from manager, and to represent the marketing team when required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders in multiple locations and across functions
