PA to the Group HR Director

Lesley Sommerville, OUP’s new Group HR Director, is looking for a talented individual to join the busy HR team as her new PA.

We are looking for someone super-organised and enthusiastic with the ability to keep things running smoothly at all times, efficiently prioritise and happy to be in control. This is a key and exciting role in continuing to help Lesley settle into her new role at OUP, and play your part in helping to shape the people strategy and plan at OUP.

About the Role

  • Ensure Lesley is always fully prepared for all appointments and meetings
  • Diary management for Lesley and other members of the Global HR Leadership team, including arranging meetings internally and externally
  • Support with email management, responding accordingly and as directed
  • Assistance with booking meetings and events internally & externally, with potential across multiple time zones
  • Attendance at both internal and external meetings to capture action points etc.
  • Create and communicate documents, including correspondence, spreadsheets, slide presentations, meeting agendas
  • Take comprehensive phone messages, screening calls where appropriate
  • Maintenance and processing of monthly expenses
  • Daily handling and management of post, invoices, purchase orders
  • Provide extensive travel arrangements & accommodation including overseas

About You

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a PA/EA role at a senior level
  • A positive outlook with lots of energy and be people oriented
  • Loyalty and absolute discretion in the handling of highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels throughout the business, including members of the Executive Committee
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organised and resourceful, with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent computing skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Skype
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize between tasks
