Payroll Advisor

About the Role

Are you looking for the next move in your Payroll career? We’re looking for someone to join us as Payroll Advisor - a key role supporting in the preparation and processing of the monthly UK payroll (c.2200 employees), and the UK pension payroll (c.1100). You’ll also work closely with the Europe and Asia Education HR Administrator to administer the monthly global payroll tasks. This role offers the opportunity to develop your leadership and technical skills through supporting the Payroll Services Team Leader with additional responsibilities and cover in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Payroll Administrators in accurately and confidentially administering the various payroll processes such as starters, leavers, absences etc.
  • Overseeing core payroll processes such as maternity, shared parental leave, auto enrolment and RTI
  • Being an escalation point on all payroll matters, escalating to the Payroll Team Leader if required
  • Meeting with new starters at the weekly induction to advise on statutory requirements and answer any pay related queries
  • Support the Payroll Team Leader with managing the tasks and relationships with HMRC, ADP and other stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role you’ll require previous experience of working in a payroll processing role and have knowledge of the legislation affecting payroll such as HMRC and DWP. You’ll also need a good understanding of statutory legislation on arrears such as maternity/paternity and sickness. Excellent communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail are key for this role to ensure we maintain the high standards of accuracy within the payroll.

A recognised payroll qualification (or studying towards one) and knowledge of pension legislation would be useful for this role, but not essential, as we will offer ongoing training for this role.
