We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

We are looking for a Production Controller to provide technical production and administrative support to the Delivery Team Manager in enabling ELT digital products to be delivered to schedule, within budget and to the required standard. The successful candidate will provide assistance with project management tasks and product conceptualization activities.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Liaising with external developers and other team members.
  • Enabling content input into interactive templates.
  • Creating and maintaining web pages.
  • Functionality and cross-platform compatibility testing.
  • Attending project meetings.
  • Archiving multimedia assets.
  • Providing general administrative support to the project teams when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with experience in new technologies who is interested in developing their interest in digital products.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Some experience of working in a digital environment
  • A high standard of literacy and attention to detail and good interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both third party suppliers and members of in-house project teams from across a wide range of departments
  • A good level of competence in Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel), and proven organisational skills
  • A working knowledge of HTML, XML and Adobe Creative Suite (desirable)
  • Previous experience testing software (desirable)

We care about work/life balance here at OUP; with this in mind we offer 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), and a 35-hour working week, along with the flexibility to start and finish late or early as required.

Our pension contribution is up to 11%.

Wellbeing is really important to us so we also have a wide range of facilities including: a canteen that serves a wide variety of healthy and delicious meals, a subsidized onsite gym and subsidized coffee shops.

We believe that the skills you bring to OUP are just a starting point. We want you to have the opportunity to expand your abilities, and to innovate and develop in areas which both interest you, and support your aspirations.
