About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Publisher to join the UK Primary Literacy team. The role will be working on major UK primary literacy brands such as Oxford Reading Tree, ReadWrite Inc. and Project X. Reporting to the Senior Publisher, the Publisher will help build and manage our publishing to  support our school improvement mission and provide teachers and learners with quality print and digital resources. The Publisher will have a leading role on brand strategy and contribute to business strategy, demonstrating expert market knowledge.


Engaging across the Press and beyond, the Publisher will be working with the Senior Publisher, Managers of Sales, PD, and Marketing and "Magic Triangle" (sales/marketing personnel). Also, with Design and Production, the Digital team, Rights and International Sales. The Publisher will also have external interactions with head teachers, teachers and learners, literacy consultants, advisers, and key figures in UK advisory bodies, authors and experts linked to brand, freelance publishers and editors and subject specialists.

About You

If you’re a Publisher with a passion for literacy, education (in particular UK Primary) and publishinglooking for a new challenge in a supportive, creative and innovative team, then this opportunity will interest you. 


  • Very good organizational and time management skill
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of teachers’ and learners’ needs
  • Good experience of school publishing, especially in primary
  • Deep experience of print and digital publishing



  • A solid track record of publishing successful primary brands
  • Good experience of the primary market and an understanding of trends
  • Background in primary literacy
  • Teaching experience
