You will:

  •  Manage the list of journals to ensure journal and divisional targets are achieved, including maintaining good internal and external relationships and retaining third party and editor contracts.

  • Manage the budgets and pricing for individual journals to ensure these are completed on schedule and fulfill agreed departmental targets.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to retain contracts
  • Develop your list of journals to maximise long and short term profitability of the journal list
  • Commission appropriate new journals in agreed subject area(s) through an appropriate mix of contracts with third-party owners, launches and purchases
  •  Attend editorial and society meetings and conferences, and present reports on behalf of OUP
  • Coordinate and engage the internal teams to ensure a high level of service is provided to societies and editors
  • Support the publishing team in setting publishing strategy for the list to ensure contracts are maintained and profits are maximized

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make their next career move in journal publishing. You will work in a dynamic environment and make a substantial contribution to the development of OUP’s high quality journal programme.

Please note, this is a 51 week fixed term contract.
