Recruitment Partner (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)

About the role

As a Recruitment Partner, you’ll be engaged and involved in making sure that OUP offers the best candidate and hiring manager experience. You’ll be accountable for coaching candidates and managers through the end to end attraction to hire process, ensuring that we’re not only delivering a great experience, but making sure that we remain compliant with local legislation and best practice.

You will be pro-actively sourcing the best talent across multiple disciplines such as content strategy, marketing, technology and finance, leading the candidate attraction strategy to produce quality shortlists for hiring managers.

As a key part of the central recruitment team you will play a pivotal role in building capability within the business to ensure we recruit efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities will include:

  • engaging with, and coaching hiring managers to ensure they achieve the best possible selection decision through their recruitment campaign
  • managing the recruitment campaign strategy; advising managers of the most appropriate media to achieve the widest possible coverage
  • pro-actively sourcing candidates across multiple social and business media channels, whilst building effective talent pipelines for future hires
  • producing quality shortlists that accurately match specific role requirements
  • ensuring that hiring managers provide timely, constructive feedback to all candidates that have attended an interview
  • preparing employment contracts and pre-employment background checks, ensuring completion within current SLAs

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop or expand their recruitment skills within a large and internationally recognized organization. This role is a maternity cover contract initially for six months with possibility of extension.

About you

We would welcome your application if you are able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • previous agency or in-house recruitment experience
  • proven ability to directly source quality candidates and proactively develop the future talent pipeline
  • the ability to manage a high volume of recruitment in a variety of disciplines
  • the ability to lead selection interviews for selected roles and ensure appropriate questions are used to determine a candidates ability to meet the job criteria
  • previous experience of using a variety of tools to pre-screen and assess candidates
  • strong stakeholder management skills, and the confidence and credibility to communicate with managers at all levels of seniority
  • highly organized with the ability to manage your own administration to tight deadlines
  • first class attention to detail at all times
  • strong technology skills with an aptitude for picking up new systems quickly


  • industry recognized recruitment qualification
  • advanced social media skills with experience of using social media platforms for recruitment

This is a full time position that may occasionally require you to work outside of usual business hours, such as when attending conferences and careers events.
