SAP Developer (MM/WM)

About the role

The Enterprise SDC group develop, implement, and maintain applications used across the business globally to further the aims of OUP. This covers everything from financial management to publishing workflow management.

We are looking for a SAP Developer (Materials Management / Warehouse Management) with design and configuration experience gained from projects spanning across SAP MM/WM processes. This individual will join our development team within the Enterprise SDC, helping to create and maintain system solutions within this business area which are well-designed, robust, scalable, and so help to improve the use of our enterprise technology solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Application development across the full lifecycle
  • Produce well designed, testable, efficient code or configuration in a timely manner to meet delivery timescales / milestones
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Document and maintain software functionality
  • Prepare time and resource estimates for development activities
  • Understand and pro-actively support business priorities for technology support and performance improvement, with a particular focus on financial and accounting elements   


About you

The person will demonstrate at least some of the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Broad knowledge of a range of application development / and delivery lifecycles, especially agile methodologies.
  • Significant experience in a range of business functions across logistics, purchasing, stock planning, and/or inventory and warehouse management
  • Excellent knowledge of the system development lifecycle and of best practices for system change management
  • Needs to be resourceful, organized, a good problem solver, a good communicator with an aptitude for learning.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and work collaboratively.
  • Strong experience in SAP development and implementation projects involving a significant MM or WM element
  • SAP MM or WM Certification
  • Experience of S/4 HANA would be beneficial
