Strategy & Business Planning Manager

The English Language Teaching (ELT) Division is a global leader in the provision of multimedia English language teaching, learning and assessment materials. Operating globally, it reaches millions of teachers and students each year to support the development of English language proficiency.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our ELT division as a Strategy & Business Planning Manager.  Reporting into the Head of Strategy and Business Planning you will support managers in strategic planning and delivery.  Activities such as establishing and maintaining a methodology that ensures a robust plan and planning process, and coordinating and providing supporting materials for ELT Business planning and strategy, are also essential elements to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the divisional plan aligns publishing, sales, and marketing expectations, to achieve divisional goals.
  • Supporting strategic decision making in Product Management.
  • Managing the process to reconcile the sales and publishing plans, to ensure alignment across functions. Establish any gaps and provide analysis to reconcile those gaps.
  • Provide insightful analysis to inform and challenge decision making and resource allocation across the division.
  • Deliver front list/pipeline analysis to assist with business planning and performance management.
  • Deliver documentation for all strategic and operational planning meetings.
  • Co-ordinate and collate submissions for Divisional strategy paper.

We operate a hybrid working policy and are open to discussing flexibility within this. We expect this role to require approx. 2 days per week in our Oxford office.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Qualified Accountant, or relevant experience in a strategic planning and analysis role.
  • Ability to work in a complex planning environment with imperfect data across multiple functions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels in the organisation.
  • Capability to solve problems effectively.
  • Experience of using data to support decisions whilst being comfortable with abstract concepts where necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to work at a detailed level whilst keeping sight of the bigger picture.
  • Able to convey complex concepts, in a clear and engaging way, to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
