We are looking for a new Continuous Improvement Associate to join our vibrant and supportive Higher Education team in the Academic division. The Continuous Improvement Associate will participate in continuous improvement projects across all areas of Higher Education, working within agreed departmental parameters, with supervision and guidance from the Continuous Improvement Lead on projects and issues as appropriate.
This role is to investigate and review workflows, procedures, systems, data, documentation, and interfaces with other functions to clarify targets for improvement. You will work with the Continuous Improvement lead and other senior content colleagues to help define and manage improvement projects and digital first workflows (DFW) sub projects, including engaging other stakeholders, gathering requirements, proposing the design of solutions, and creating project plans and KPIs for review. You will contribute to the overall management of the implementation and documentation of changes, and also contribute to the delivery of projects by owning and delivering agreed elements of those projects, taking own responsibility for deadlines and targets within larger scale activity.
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
Support continuous process improvement in conjunction with Continuous Improvement Lead across select areas of Higher Education in accordance with defined procedures, by providing reviews of workflow, process, systems, documentation, data, and interfaces with other functions, before making recommendations.
Make suggestions for simplifying and standardizing workflows by co-managing continuous improvement projects designed to improve efficiency, increase the speed to publish, provide authors with an excellent experience, and deliver on the strategy for Higher Education.
Communicate the progress and implementation of continuous improvement projects to the Continuous Improvement lead and other stakeholders, ensuring that predicted benefits and risks are monitored.
In collaboration with Continuous Improvement Lead, Content Acquisition & Development Teams, Upper Level Content Teams, Digital Product teams, and Editorial Operations teams, develop and maintain standardized training documentation, and find ways to increase the use of that documentation within Higher Education.
Share in the responsibility of the backlist digitization project in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Lead to run initial checks and sales reports for any titles requested, make recommendations on whether or not to digitize titles, and to request ISBNs for titles as needed.
Serve as the point person for digital custom projects from start to finish, working with reps and the supplier to create custom ebooks as needed for select courses throughout the year.
Serve as an Oxford Publish Key User, collaborating with other key users in Higher Education to ensure documentation are clear and up-to-date and to answer questions, to help problem solve with issues that arise, and to escalate as needed to the organization-wide Oxford Publish team.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
