Managing Editor - Primary

ABOUT THE ROLE

At OUP ELT our content is our unique differentiator. Our Managing Editors play a critical role in delivering world-renowned content, challenging the conventional and pioneering the possible.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Leading the development of innovative learning design and effective multi-format content for products tailored to customer needs in Primary across delivery modes (print, digital, blended etc.), and contribute to delivering commercial targets.
  2. Managing products successfully through the product development process to time and budget including managing and developing a team of editors and liaising with cross-functional colleagues.
  3. Managing and developing a team of in-house content development Editors to ensure performance is effectively managed and individuals are achieving their best potential.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in developing multi-modal teaching and learning content, editorial experience in educational publishing and in managing authors / writers
  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of educational teaching and learning requirements
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment and global market.
  • Has an innovative and open mindset
  • First-hand experience of teaching, ideally in a Primary ELT environment is desirable
