JOB VACANCY

Marketing Design Manager

We are the world’s largest university press. That means we serve the academic community as no other publisher can. We work in partnership with institutions and learned societies to bring a world of knowledge to the fingertips of students and researchers worldwide.

The goal is impact. Together with our academic communities, we curate and seamlessly connect together the ideas that push their fields forward, so they can learn from them, add to them, and continue a virtuous cycle of scholarship.

And because we are a part of the academic community and guided in everything we do by our mission, we re-invest in our people, our publishing, and the world-leading research institution of which we are part.

About the Role

The Marketing Design Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting Academic Marketing teams by executing design and multimedia briefs, managing the resourcing of briefs by internal and freelance designers as needed, and overseeing  the work of two Marketing Design Specialists. You will ensure that all creative outputs are tailored to audience and market needs while meeting deadlines. A key responsibility includes maintaining a comprehensive suite of templates and branding assets that enable Marketing teams to self-serve basic design requirements efficiently. You will also provide expert guidance on design and multimedia matters, ensuring consistent brand execution across all Academic Marketing materials and offering training and support where needed.

In addition to day-to-day delivery, the Marketing Design Manager will need to develop forward-looking strategies that address evolving design and multimedia needs, this to specifically leverage opportunities presented by AI tools and resources. You will collaborate closely with Marketing leaders to align creative approaches with future goals, driving the adoption of impactful and effective design across all outputs. By leading the Marketing Design Specialists and coordinating with stakeholders, you will ensure that design work is not only visually compelling but also strategically aligned with broader marketing objectives.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
