Payroll Administrator (Part Time, Fixed Term Contract)

About the Role

As part of the UK Payroll Team, you will prepare and process the monthly payroll of c.2000 UK employees to ensure all are paid accurately and on time in accordance with UK legislation and OUP terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and confidently administer the various payroll processes for workflows covering Starters, Leavers, Absences, Promotions, Salary Increases, Change in Hours, Overtime, Rehires and Pension Contributions
  • Administer all payroll processes relating to leave
  • Pension auto enrolment administration
  • Meeting with colleagues due to go on any type of family leave to discuss entitlements
  • Supporting the UK Payroll Team Leader to successful administer the UK Income Protection process
  • Payroll administration for benefits such as bus and train loans, cycle to work scheme and salary finance
  • First point of contact on all UK payroll matters, escalating to the UK Payroll Team Leader if required
  • Manage the UK Payroll inbox
  • Responding to scheduled and ad hoc reporting requests

This is a fixed term contract (maternity cover) position for six months initially, at 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week). 

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

About You

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a payroll processing role
  • Knowledge of changes to legislation which effect payroll such as HMRC and DWP
  • Good understanding of statutory legislation on arears such as family leave and sickness
  • First class level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize payroll activities

Desirable:

  • Experience of payrolling benefits
  • Experience of working with SAP
