Sales Development & Customer Success Executive, Professional Law

About the Role

The Sales Development & Customer Success Executive - Professional Law will offer pre- and post-adoption support for Professional Law accounts, protecting revenue and ensuring a positive customer experience. You will be responsible for facilitating renewal business through customer onboarding, offering training and implementation services as needed; this role is also responsible for researching, creating and qualifying new business leads at a Professional Law organisational level to build our opportunity pipeline and drive new business development in our previously un-tapped customer base, using a variety of professional consultative techniques.

  • Work with colleagues and leadership in Academic Library to prioritize account outreach based on size, potential for development, renewal risk, campaigns, and other factors. Use this information to offer appropriate levels of support for each account
  • Support renewals for direct professional law accounts in the region, territory, or sector as assigned
  • Implement pre- and post-adoption support programs for professional law accounts and analyze their success by reporting on effects on usage, retention rate, trial conversion, and other metrics
  • Use all available data to research and create leads to support promotion campaigns
  • Monitor high-risk accounts showing low usage, high cost per download, and other metrics
  • Be fully able to demonstrate all OUP digital products in person as well as virtually, both for large audiences and for individuals, and understand the product(s) background and future strategy to enable intensive training and answer questions for customers and end-users
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the digital publishing industry, Professional law sector, OUP online products, and relevant systems and tools (including discovery services, usage reporting, Open Access, MARC records and KBART files)
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
  • Work according to OUP’s code of conduct and values

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

About You

  • Experience in publishing industry, especially in Professional Law or Academic Publishing sector, and knowledge of scholarly communications environment would be highly beneficial
  • Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and Microsoft Office skills
  • The abilities to organize, prioritize, and be a self-starter to meet deadlines and goals
  • Experience using data to drive priorities and activities, and strong numeracy skills for the preparation of quotations
  • Highly motivated to become a top-notch business development producer, demonstrating initiative, diligence, and willingness to learn what that requires
  • Able and willing to spend up to 10% of time traveling to library conferences, meetings, and on-campus site visits as required or needed.
  • Familiarity with OUP’s academic publishing or Law portfolio is desirable
