Apprentice Print Finisher

About the role

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to support the production of finished goods from printed sheets to meet customer requirements, production schedules and KPI’s. You will also support the various departments with getting work ready for dispatch.

This is a paid position aimed at giving you the skills and competence to build or develop your career within this sector as well as allow you to study towards an industry recognized NVQ Level 3 qualification. You will also receive training in other printing related activities outside of that covered by the NVQ as well as OUP specific training.

The key areas that the apprentice will develop include:  

  • Digital printing.
  • Print finishing.
  • Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Maintenance of Finishing machinery.
  • Delivery of jobs.

Please note: this role will be based at our offices in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. The expected duration of the apprenticeship is between 2-3 years and at the end of your apprenticeship you will achieve an NVQ Level 3 print finishing. The potential start date for this will be January 2020.

About you

The successful candidate will have a GCSE in Maths and English ideally at grade C or above (or equivalent) and will be computer literate.
