Assistant Financial Analyst

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Academic division as an Assistant Financial Analyst. You’ll provide financial analysis and support for the Academic Division, with responsibility for key monthly management reporting and financial accounting processes. In addition, support the Head of Management Reporting in any other ad hoc tasks as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Month End and Reporting - Produce standard monthly and ad-hoc reports so that the Division receives timely and accurate information upon which to base business decisions. Assist in month-end close process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and review of accounts.
  • Financial controls - Provide support to the Head of Management Reporting on the internal audit, external audit and the internal control framework, ensuring Best Practice Financial Controls are adhered to at all times.
  • Budgeting and Planning - Participate fully in the process where required, ensuring that accurate and consistent information is prepared on a timely basis.
  • Projects - Involvement in Academic Finance projects so that the Division’s best interests are expressed.
  • Teamwork - Work effectively as part of the Academic finance team, the Academic division and also across the wider OUP group.  Maintain good communication with the Head of Management Reporting, raising any issues/ problems/ time pressures as soon as appropriate.


About You
