JOB VACANCY

Data Analyst (6 month fixed term contract)

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

The Reporting & Analytics team provides an end-to-near-end Analytics service to departmental Analysts and data users who may derive the ‘last mile’ of business value from data, but also provides an end-to-end Analytics service to business functions without Analytics capacity, to senior management who require cross-functional data, and to cross-functional data initiatives.  Within the team, a Business Intelligence Analyst has particular responsibility for delivery of ‘rapid response analytics’, i.e. the responsive and accurate delivery of information and analysis that the business requires to make data-driven decisions.

Duties of the role include:

  1. Creating new data assets with cross-functional value through the capture, creation, or combination of data
  2. Responsibility for rapid-response analytics, ensuring that new information and analysis is provided to the business in a timely and accurate fashion
  3. Provisioning of reports and analysis for Academic business functions without a functional analytics capability
  4. Responsibility for the provision of reports and analysis for Academic senior management who require cross-functional data
  5. Reporting and analysis for cross-functional projects and initiatives which require data
  6. Monitoring industry developments and technical innovations in reporting and analytics
  7. Advocating, collaborating, and building community within Academic

Please note that this role is covering maternity leave and is a 6-month fixed term contract in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
