Demand Planner

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

OUP are establishing a new integrated global Supply Chain and Inventory Planning function and this has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced supply chain operator, with highly tuned analytical acumen, to join an ambitious and collaborative team as a Demand Planner.

You will be accountable for the monthly Demand Review Meetings with key stakeholders and to work closely with colleagues across the business who will use your demand plan for financial, resource, and capacity planning.

This is a crucial role in ensuring customer needs are anticipated and that the business has planned sufficiently far ahead to meet the customer demand effectively. As a charity, we are committed to a reduction in waste, reduction in inventory, and environmental footprint so an appreciation for these factors alongside our customer focussed drivers will be key to the success of the applicant.

  • You will be looking to continuously improve and can demonstrate ability to deal with ambiguity and remain calm under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting and forecasting methodologies with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Experience working cross functionally to deliver results.
  • Detailed working knowledge and experience of the most up to date S&OP methodologies, including statistical modelling e.g. machine learning.
  • Experienced at presenting and chairing cross functional meetings.
