The Education Division publishes teaching, learning and assessment resources across Primary, Secondary, Trade and Children's markets, both for the UK and for customers around the world. We are passionately committed to our mission to educate and inspire.
About the Role
This role provides you with the opportunity to project manage and gain hands on experience with our print and digital primary resources for our international markets. This role sits within a growing, supportive team who work on a broad range of subjects. Key responsibilities include:
Shape print and digital manuscripts and briefs so that they are right for their intended users to include animations and audio
Develop good core curriculum, teacher/learner, and competitor knowledge through market research
Develop and maintain effective author and advisor relationships
Project manage; create and monitor schedules, organise meetings and contribute to process improvements
Ensure digital and print lists are kept up to date
Work closely with freelance editors
Assist in creating first cost and overhead budget and monitor spend
Liaise effectively with other departments and customers to ensure projects are worked on efficiently.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 6 month secondment or fixed term contract position with the possibility for extension.
We are thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this such as a blend of office and home working. We expect this role to require approximately 2-3 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, organized individual with the desire to develop existing editorial skills further. The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
The ability to project manage effectively with experience of managing schedules and budgets
Previous editorial experience
Understanding and/or experience of digital products
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable:
International schools market experience/interest in
Experience with audio and animation.
