Director of International Engagement (Sales & Marketing)

OxfordAQA is the new name in international GCSEs and A-levels and our aim is to bring out the best in students so they can achieve their potential and fulfil their dreams. We were set up in 2015 by Oxford University Press, the largest university press in the world, and AQA, the UK’s largest provider of GCSEs and A-levels.

We have an innovative approach to assessment which is capturing the interest - and exam entries - of British curriculum schools in the Middle East, South East Asia and China.

We have created this new role to bring together our sales and marketing activity, develop an overarching strategy and inspire the global team to drive adoptions.  We are looking for a high-achieving strategic leader with a strong track record in sales and marketing who will help us build on our early success and deliver sustainable growth.

About the Role

This role provides a rare opportunity to shape and implement our go-to-market strategy, ensuring we are successful because we have a deep understanding of the needs of our schools and students and a clear focus on meeting them. This includes:

  • establishing OxfordAQA as a credible provider of high quality qualifications and assessment with exceptional levels of customer support
  • providing clear direction and strong leadership to an integrated sales and marketing team, creating a culture of ambition and inspiring high achievement
  • positively influencing the operating environment, identifying and removing barriers to business success
  • leveraging the expertise and support of OUP and AQA and increasing cross-team and organisational collaboration and connectivity.

About You

We are looking an experienced and ambitious sales and marketing leader with:

  • significant experience of developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies for global organisations
  • a good knowledge and understanding of the education sector and the qualifications environment, ideally with an appreciation of current curriculum and assessment trends
  • a strong track record of recruiting, developing, leading, motivating and retaining a high performing field-based team of sales and marketing professionals
  • demonstrated ability to target and engage with key internal and external stakeholders and to build effective relationships with all decision-makers
  • the ability to work flexibly and adapt management style to get the best performance from the team.

Regular international travel is a key part of the role during term time and we aim to offer flexible working options (eg working from home) where possible.
