About the Role
The Education Division’s Primary Maths team publishes some of the UK’s leading Primary maths brands, such as Numicon and MyMaths, working closely with learners, teachers and experts to develop print and digital resources that make an impact. To help us to publish new resources for both teachers and learners and support them with relevant and up-to-date content we are looking for an Editor to join our Primary Maths team. You will play a key role in taking specific print and digital projects through the production process and problem-solve to ensure that the resources publish on time.
Responsibilities include:
Strategy and market
Editorial skills and best practice
Author relations
Project management
List management
People management – freelance editors and developers
Financial management
Communication and teamwork
About You
If you’re an Editor with a passion for maths, education and publishing looking for a new challenge in a supportive, creative and innovative team, then this opportunity will interest you.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience working in an editorial environment
Have an A-Level or equivalent in mathematics and be confident in their ability to check mathematics content at a Primary level
Be able to write clear and succinct briefs
Be highly organised and collaborative
Be keen to understand new skills and processes.
It is also desirable that you have:
Experience working with online learning tools
An appreciation of layout and design
An understanding of the UK Primary mathematics curriculum.
Experience of teaching in the school types for which we produce resources.
Project management experience, ideally in a similar field.
