Educational Consultant, Primary Sales (Term Time)

About Us

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

NB This is a term time position.

The Education Division provides print and digital resources across Secondary, Primary and Trade and Children's markets, both for the UK and for customers around the world.  We are passionately committed to our mission to educate and inspire through book, board and screen.

Our mission is to partner with schools to offer bespoke integrated blended service through a collaborative, consultative sales approach, enabling us to support our customers with the right selection of products and services that will enhance teaching and learning.

The Educational Consultant role is an exciting opening in our Primary sales team, covering Surrey, Sutton, Brighton & Hove and W Sussex. This is a field-based position, requiring a mix of in school visits and virtual meetings. There may be occasional times that require an over night stay.  You will be working within our Primary portfolio, expanding the customer base and finding new schools to work with. Your customers will range from teachers through to senior leaders, so an ability to work and present at all levels is key.

About You

Ideally you will have some sales / customer service experience and are now looking for the next step up. We will offer full sales and product training. You should be a strong listener and have a natural ability to carry out a consultative sales meeting, ensuring you are gathering all relevant information to properly account manage your customers. If you have knowledge of Primary education that would be a bonus, but not essential.

We care about work/life balance here at OUP and are open to discussing flexibility in respect of working hours and the use of technology to support regular remote working, dependent on role.

We help make your money go further by contributing to your pension up to 12%, offering loans and savings schemes through our partnership with Salary Finance, in addition to travel to work schemes and access to a wide range of local discounts.

Please see our Rewards and Recognition page for more information.

This role also comes with bonus and sales car.
