Managing Director International – Oxford Ed

Our Oxford Education (OE) division seeks a Managing Director to provide expertise in leading the divisional vision and strategy for the OE International business. This will involve dealing with government officials, education institutions and other stakeholders and partners in key global markets. A key focus will be developing and delivering product, market and sales strategies in order to retain existing customer retention and drive new market share. Working with sister companies and businesses across OUP, especially our UK Oxford Education business, will be imperative in achieving our International Schools growth ambition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise revenue and profitability through innovative and ambitious strategy and business plans
  • Ensuring effective operational and financial management control is in place, allowing for a continuous improvement culture
  • Develop relationships with relevant stakeholders, representing OUP across the International landscape

About You

To be successful in this role will require collaborative relationships, and the highest standards of professional and ethical business practices. You’ll also have the following:

  • Track record of driving effective revenue and surplus/profit growth through business strategy, analysis, growth and operational expenditure strategies within domestic or international markets
  • Strong commercial experience and skills operating at a senior level within international school education markets
  • Experience in the successful conceptualization, development, delivery of Educational Products and Services
  • Extensive experience and a strong track record of success in Sales and Marketing, preferably in educational publishing
  • Proven team leadership, management, negotiating, and influencing skills at a senior level, with strong financial management skills
