Marketing Campaign Manager

The Education Division provides resources and services across Primary, Secondary & Vocational education, Children’s fiction and Home Learning, both for the UK and for customers around the world. We’re looking for a creative, agile and ambitious Marketing Campaign Manager to join our UK Trade Marketing and Publicity team, home to award-winning picture books and fiction, bestselling dictionaries, innovative home learning resources, and the market leading Bond 11+ exam range, as well as the website for parents Oxford Owl for Home.

About the Role

The Marketing Campaign Manager will devise and deliver creative and innovative marketing campaigns that drive advocacy and sales from B2B and B2C customers. Marketing to wholesale, retail, parents and schools, this is a multi-faceted role covering a wide range of the portfolio and marketing mix.

A typical day might include:

  • Devising, delivering and monitoring integrated marketing campaigns, taking a logistical lead to ensure marketing activity is effective and generates maximum return on investment.
  • Briefing freelancers and agencies to develop marketing assets and advertising plans.
  • Working collaboratively with publishers, sales managers and other functions.
  • Assisting in analysing customer and market information and preparing campaign reports to inform sales and marketing plans.
  • Monitoring and adjusting organic and paid digital campaigns, across social media, email, and SEM.
  • Presenting campaign plans and reports to the wider team and business.

About You

We’re looking for a consumer-focused marketer who combines creativity with analysis and innovation and has a demonstrable passion for children’s books and education. You will have a strong understanding of our audience and innovative ideas about the best way to connect with them. With an excellent knowledge of consumer marketing trends, you will be able to show a track record of working on effective multi-channel marketing campaigns.

The role requires a proactive, self-starter, with outstanding communication and organisation skills. You will be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally, including authors and illustrators, partners and customers. 

To succeed you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:



  • Experience of working in marketing across all channels and/or publishing
  • Experience of managing a budget
  • Strong knowledge of social media marketing, influencer marketing, and digital advertising across third party and owned channels
  • Innovative and creative
  • A strong design eye, with experience creating eye-catching marketing assets
  • Excellent copyrighting skills
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload with maximum attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team working skills
  • Quick to learn a range of IT systems
  • Well organised and able to prioritise
  • A passion for education, children’s books and home learning resources
  • Willingness to travel for events, with occasional working outside hours (these are on hold at the moment due to Covid-19)



  • Publishing or marketing qualification (e.g. CIM)
  • Experience in a B2C marketing role
  • Experience of managing projects
