Marketing Executive

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

Epigeum was established as an edtech spinout company from Imperial College London in 2005, before being acquired by Oxford University Press in 2015. Over the past 15 years, and now with 30 members of staff, it has developed, hosted, and maintained a wide range of interactive, online training courses to support the core activities of higher education institutions around the world, with over 200 universities currently using our courses to advance the knowledge and skills of their academic and professional staff, researchers, and students. Each interactive, online course is developed through a unique process of global collaboration between world-class subject experts, partner institutions, and in-house specialists, before being made available to universities and colleges on a subscription basis – ensuring that the finished content is of the highest quality, and making consistent, cost-effective training achievable for all.

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of marketing activity for a range of Epigeum products – ensuring that campaigns are delivered in a timely fashion, within budget, and in line with agreed strategic objectives.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Contributing to the development of the Epigeum marketing strategy, ensuring that all activity is aligned with the agreed strategic direction and objectives
  • Planing, implementing, communicating and evaluating all marketing activity in relation to a range of Epigeum products, reflecting knowledge of key markets and awareness of targets
  • Supporting budgetary management by conducting marketing activities within agreed spending limits, tracking expenditure, and flagging up potential overspend or underspend
  • Building positive working relationships with internal colleagues and key external stakeholders to ensure effective communication between all parties and to drive product sales and usage
  • Undertaking additional specific activities and responsibilities as required, including internal communications, reporting and product training

Please note that this role can be based in either London or Oxford.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience of implementing a wide range of marketing activities to a deadline and budget
  • The ability to analyse the effectiveness of marketing tactics and adapt accordingly
  • The capacity to independently manage a varied and demanding workload
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in copywriting for B2B and/or B2C audiences
  • A creative approach, and willingness to embrace change and innovate
  • Confidence with using a range of IT systems in a marketing context
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team-working skills

We’re all currently working from home at the moment due to COVID.  We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this such as a blend of office and home working.

We care about work/life balance here at OUP. With this in mind, we offer 25 days’ holiday that rises with service, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (3-days) and a 35-hour working week. We are open to discussing flexibility in respect of working hours and the use of technology to support regular remote working, dependent on role. We also have an on-site gym with subsidised membership fees and a great variety of active employee networks and societies.

We help make your money go further by contributing to your pension up to 11%, offering loans and savings schemes through our partnership with Salary Finance, in addition to travel to work schemes and access to a wide range of local discounts.
