Our ELT (English Language Teaching) Division is a global leader in the provision of multimedia English language teaching and learning materials. Operating in over 100 countries, it reaches millions of teachers and students each year to support the development of English language proficiency. 

About the Role

This is a 6 month FTC (fixed term contract) as a Media Archivist. You’ll be part of our fantastic Design & Media Team in the ELT division, and will be responsible for managing hi-resolution final files and working files for video and images, ensuring the archive is kept up-to-date and that files are easily accessible for re-printing or repurposing. This includes checking the rights status of video and images and clearing rights as necessary. Reporting to a Senior Media Manager and working closely with our media managers, designers, editors and external suppliers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic person who can accurately manage the storage of video and image assets within a DAM (Digital Asset Management), created from a wide range of products.  You would be required to undertake a degree of rights checking across the product portfolio, retrieving and supplying asset files as necessary, and liaising with the Senior Media Manager – Rights and Permissions to do this. Therefore, you should have an up to date understanding of copyright and permissions issues.

This position is based in Oxford, however we’re all currently working from home at the moment due to COVID.  We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this, such as a blend of office and home working.

About You

You’ll have great communication skills, be methodical, highly organized and have a keen eye for detail, with proven experience of working in a digital archiving environment.

You will be:

  • Fully conversant in Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.
  • Comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite (Bridge and Premiere Pro essential) or similar.
  • Able to work independently and multi-task.
  • Proficient at building working relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiar with copyright and permissions related to still / moving images.
  • Familiar with different restrictions around video / images in varying international markets.
