Music Digitization Administrator (12 month fixed term contract)

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

OUP’s Music Department is one of the world’s leading music publishers, with a strong educational catalogue incorporating major instrumental and classroom titles. It has a world-renowned choral list and a legacy catalogue of classical twentieth- and twenty-first century British and American music.

About the Role

  • Sourcing digital files for print titles
  • Working systematically through a list of titles to prepare them for digital distribution, creating and maintaining records in the publishing management system
  • Liaising with colleagues to check rights and organize distribution
  • Preparing marketing copy according to an agreed template and creating title records in marketing software Star Client
  • Preparing PDF files for digital publication
  • Support the Publishing team with administrative tasks to assist the publication of new titles and support the smooth running of the publishing programme.

Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract with potential for extension.

We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this such as a blend of office and home working. We expect this role to require 1 day a week working from the office currently.
