About the Role
As our new Portfolio Analyst, you will be responsible for providing data and information management and reporting to support the overall Tech/Ops portfolio. This includes the maintenance of a ‘single point of truth’ view of our portfolio; quality assurance of demand documentation, and tracking of priorities in conjunction with business stakeholders. You will also be responsible for the development of management information and reports to support portfolio management processes and decision making.
You will be responsible for ensuring timeliness, accuracy and clarity of portfolio data and information across the portfolio, designing and development portfolio management reports to support the needs of the Portfolio Manager and the Head of Strategy & Portfolio. You will review and assure new portfolio demand documentation, working with stakeholders to ensure all documentation is complete and clearly articulates the demand to enable prioritization. . You will maintain the multi-year demand pipeline and use this to forward schedule portfolio planning meetings with key stakeholders, capturing outcomes and tracking actions to ensure successful project initiation.
This role is ideally suited to someone highly organised and analytical, with experience of working in a project or portfolio team. You will deliver a suite of timely and accurate portfolio reporting and management information to key stakeholder groups & forums, including the provision of ad hoc analytics or reporting based upon stakeholder needs. You will help to instill a culture of continuous improvement and actively track and deliver a suite of metrics to assess the portfolio health to identify areas of concerns and continuously improve.
We operate a hybrid working policy and expect this role to require approximately 1 day per week in the Oxford office.
About You
You will have:
Previous experience of operating in a project environment and working with project managers, portfolio managers and/or PMO teams and understanding their priorities/drivers.
Previous experience of developing & implementing portfolio reporting in a portfolio office or similar.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills including proficiency in core software use e.g. Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word. Compiles presentation decks and reports to a high standard, tailored to the intended audience.
The ability to write and issue timely, clear & concise meeting minutes and translate outcomes into a clear set of actions that can be documented & acted upon by the relevant owners. Build relationships to maintain momentum in closing down actions and escalates as/when required.
A mindset that encourages and fosters continuous improvement and works collaboratively with others to identify opportunities for improvement, proposing solutions for consideration and/or championing those of others.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to foresee gaps in data or information/anticipate questions and modify approach accordingly.
Analytic thinking skills, being able to collect and translate large quantities of data and information into useful reports or summaries tailored to the needs of the recipient/s.
The ability to be organized and proactive, planning ahead and aligning multiple stakeholders to ensure achievement of a goal, whilst maintaining flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
High levels of numeracy and be confident working with numbers and using technology to support analysis, insight & modelling.
