Secondary Sales Manager (home based)

About the Role

We are looking for a resilient, collaborative and self-motivated individual with a passion for education.  The Secondary Sales Manager works within the national secondary management team and will be responsible for leading a team of field based Educational consultants.

The Sales Manager will work closely with the Head of Sales, National Partnership, National Digital and Internal Sales Development Managers to agree and execute strategy to secure ongoing growth and retention across the blended suite of resources and services. 

The Sales Manager has a key role in driving organisational and cultural change within the teams they lead and will always lead by example as a champion of change and innovative working. 

With a strong pedagogical knowledge within the secondary sector the sales manager will have the ability and experience to take on additional responsibilities such as subject leads across subjects to secure ongoing collaboration with our wider publishing and marketing colleagues and will lead on projects that grow and sustain our changing market. 

This role is home/field based.

About You


  • Experience of leading and coaching an educational sales team.
  • An advocate of leading and managing a sales team within an account management strategy.
  • Has experience of developing skills within the sales teams to deliver specific value propositions to targeted end users through consultative selling approach.
  • Can articulate sales, CRM and performance data to inform and sales activity and planning.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills who is confident to deliver top level presentations at exhibitions and to key influential stakeholders at Senior leadership level (SLT).
  • Understands the technology context in schools around selling of digital products and services.
  • Experience of analysing economic factors, trends and to inform sales driven activity
  • Competent in the use of various platforms to promote innovate working and increase productivity.
  • Ability to think creatively, independently and flexibly.
  • Highly motivated and performance driven with strong commercial awareness
  • Mobile and able to travel frequently to all parts of the UK


  • Experience of championing the shift to a blended service offer that will meet the needs of our schools, Multi-Academy Trust and other educational partners.
  • Experience across both qualifications and educational resources.
  • Business development skills with key influential senior leaders in schools, academies and other educational stakeholders.
