The Group Finance team have a pivotal role in supporting the smooth running of the Press and ensuring global financial compliance across the Press.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for performing FP&A activities as determined by FP&A team members and produce the output that supports finance Business Partners and Divisional FD and broader Finance in their activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Perform FP&A activities including (but not limited to) reporting, budgeting, forecasting, decision support to provide consistent, accurate and timely output and add additional commentary and insights based on specific business drivers.
Run and develop reports, models and approaches using analysis and problems solving skills to support projects based on defined requirements.
Analyse financial information to ensure that information is accurate, that provisions are financially sound and correctly allocated, investigate anomalies and provide explanations on variances that have occurred against budget. Where errors are found provide information and analysis and to Finance Operations to correct the postings.
Identify data quality issues and work with the data team and help to resolve the issues, providing analysis and insight.
Propose and implements improvements to finance activities, processes and procedures and work with the FP&A team to continually improve processes.
Acts as support for colleagues with less experience, providing informal guidance.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

Finance qualification or studying for a professional qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
Commitment to continual personal professional development
Desirable:
Experience of problem solving and analysis techniques to define problems
Initiative and ability to successfully implement new ideas, with drive to push through
Ability to clearly communicate compelling messages – verbal and written
Finance tools (including excel) and technology awareness
Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract with the possibility of an extension.
