That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

  • Attend appropriate conferences/industry events as appropriate

  • Participate in the Journals-Product Working Group and chair relevant sub-groups as required
  • Liaise with other staff in Journals Editorial to understand their Product development needs, communication needs, and priorities for developments
  • Lead or contribute to the Journals Editorial innovation cycle to generate and capture ideas for strategic review at Journals-Product Working Group
  • Contribute to the response to RFPs for select potential acquisitions in the department regarding Product & Platform, including financial modelling input as required

About You

You will have:

  • Significant publishing or transferable professional experience
  • Strong understanding of academic publishing, including editorial processes, production processes, marketing, industry trends, systems, competitors, and technology.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate with both internal and external parties.
  • Analytical and forecasting ability to review trends and align development appropriately.
  • Entrepreneurial skills
