Senior Rights Sales Executive

About the Role

The Senior Rights Sales Executive will develop new licensing business for Oxford’s market-leading English Language Teaching (ELT) content across digital and print media in a range of geographical markets, contributing to the division’s licensing income targets. Working within a small, highly motivated and supportive team and liaising with peers across the business in the UK and internationally, the Senior Rights Sales Executive will seek out new licensing opportunities and grow these into a sustainable customer portfolio.

The successful candidate will…

  • Have a keen eye for licensing opportunities and the ability to engage in effective deal-making, including negotiating favourable terms, assessing financial viability, obtaining stakeholder buy-in, conducting due diligence and conclude contracts, within input from central functions as needed.
  • Coordinate communication between partners and central team members in regard to licensing projects and ensure that licensed products make best use of Oxford’s content.
  • Sustain and develop relationships with business partners through regular engagement.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of ELT’s content offer to help match customer needs with appropriate solutions.
  • Keep abreast of developments and opportunities in the licensing and technology worlds, as well as competitor activity, through engagement with markets and attending relevant fairs and conferences.

About You

The successful candidate will have…

  • Previous experience in selling rights, whether in regard to published content or in other industries
  • Commercial acumen, with an ability to prioritize business opportunities and assess business cases effectively
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set with interest in new technologies and their application to educational content
  • Tenacity and creativity
  • The ability to communicate effectively with varied stakeholders
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of copyright law and contracts
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
