The STEM Education Team at OUP publishes a wide range of successful and respected courses for ages 5 to 18, working with teachers, educational partners, and industry experts to ensure maximum impact on educational outcomes. MyMaths is our market-leading digital maths platform – it provides interactive digital content to support maths learning in class and at home.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK STEM team as a Technical Editor, specifically to support MyMaths. The successful candidate will develop technical editorial skills alongside mathematics editorial skills and support delivery of high-value, high-quality digital content.

You will be responsible for supporting the creation of new content, fixing and updating existing content and supporting customer queries. You will work with senior editors as you develop your skills and liaise with a wide-range of internal stakeholders across a range of functions.

About You

If have a passion for education and Maths and are looking for a new challenge, then this opportunity will interest you. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • an understanding of mathematics sufficient to test, fix and edit for the full 5-18 age range
  • experience and background in a STEM discipline
  • experience in editing mathematics content
  • excellent organisation skills
  • a willingness to collaborate within an editorial team and across multiple functions
  • a willingness to learn new skills and processes, including how to manipulate code (such as JavaScript and XML)
  • a high level of computer literacy
  • good communication skills
  • an inquisitive, problem-solving mind-set

The following are also desirable, but not essential:

  • experience of teaching or tutoring Maths
  • some experience of using coding languages
  • familiarity with online learning platforms, such as MyMaths
