Credit Control Team Leader

About Us

Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford, which furthers the University’s objectives of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.

The Credit team is responsible for ensuring that the company has effective strategies for credit granting and credit management.

You will support the Journals online and divisional Rights teams’ credit operations, ensuring payments are being made by customers in accordance with their terms of payment. 

About the Role

The purpose of this new role is to support the Credit Manager and manage all credit control aspects of the Journals online and Rights sales ledgers.

In this role you will have responsibility for:

  • Team Management Initially the role will be responsible for the day to day management of a small team.
  • Cash Collection Targets
  • Credit Limits and Payment terms
  • Building Key customer Relationships
  • Quality Control of processes for the team.

About You

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualities:

  • In-depth knowledge of credit management in UK and export markets gained from management experience in a credit role (experience ideally gained within a Publishing/Media environment)
  • Ability to communicate effectively from Board level downwards for both internal and external customers and all stakeholders
  • A proven successful track record of managing and motivating a team
  • Ideally studying towards or hold membership of the Institute of Credit Management (study support will be available for suitable candidates).
