Head of Business Development - Music

OUP’s Music Department is a world-renowned classical music publisher, with a strong educational catalogue and a legacy catalogue of classical twentieth-century British and American music. It is one of the leading publishers of choral music, with a roster of some of the best-known contemporary composers in the genre, and a vision to be the world’s leading publisher of quality choral music. We are also the proud distributor of the publishing catalogue of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)

You will also be responsible for managing the relationship with our own distributor in the USA, and will work with them to ensure we have efficient working practices, consistently good quality distribution, and access to the information we need in order to grow our US business.

Using data, you will develop effective approaches to pricing, discount and channel prioritisation in order to maximise income and surplus. Reporting into the Director of Music Publishing you will prepare and manage the expenditure budget for the Business Development team and will set and monitor revenue budgets.

As a member of the Music Management team, you will be supporting the smooth running of the department and work with the Management team to influence departmental strategy towards the delivery of increased revenue and surplus.
