Language, Content and Pedagogy Manager (Fixed Term)

The English Language Teaching (ELT) Division is a global leader in the provision of multimedia English language teaching, learning and assessment materials. Operating globally, it reaches millions of teachers and students each year to support the development of English language proficiency.

About the Role

NB. Secondment / Fixed Term opportunity for 6 months

This role is within the Content Management team at Oxford University Press. The team is accountable for creating the guidelines, frameworks and reusable content that used across all learning materials.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Language Content and Pedagogy Manager to be responsible for working on a range of content initiatives to ensure that they meet divisional strategic objectives and add value to the ELT product offer. Working with the Content Management team and editorial colleagues, the role will manage the production of material for content banks; develop and maintain product agnostic guidelines and design and develop frameworks that describe ELT content.

We’re all currently working from home at the moment due to COVID.  We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and  are open to discussing flexibility within this such as a blend of office and home working

About You

If you’re an experienced ELT professional with Product experience, a passion for language pedagogy looking for a new challenge in a supportive, creative and innovative team, then this opportunity will interest you. 

It is essential the successful candidate can demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of ELT coursebook publishing principles and trends in ELT pedagogy
  • Understanding of Assessment for Learning principles
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work cross-divisionally as well as cross-functionally
  • Sound understanding of content workflows
  • Good communicator able to explain complicated issues and principles to a wider audience
  • Significant experience of developing language curricula
  • Knowledge and experience of managing budgets and project costs
