About the Role

As a Marketing Assistant in our dynamic team, you will support B2B marketers promoting a portfolio of digital products to library markets throughout the world, working closely with regional sales teams.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for supporting sales efforts, generating content for social media, organizing conference attendance, understanding customer needs, implementing a range of digital marketing campaigns, and tracking campaign results.

The role is extremely varied and necessitates strong initiative, attention to detail, creativity, organisation, and excellent communication skills.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist other members of the Institutional Marketing team with implementation of their marketing campaigns, including a variety of digital marketing channels
  • Conduct marketing activities within agreed spending limits and flag up potential overspends so that budgets are adhered to
  • Perform regular marketing tasks in order to provide a full marketing service across a number of regions. This will include creating and updating promotional materials and sales tools as well as producing a weekly product and information newsletter for sales staff.
  • Respond to queries and requests for information from internal and external customers in a polite, helpful, and timely manner. This will include responding to product questions from regional sales teams and answering e-mails from customers and the public sent to a library marketing inbox.
  • Implementing creative content marketing campaigns which work across multiple social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr), including the OUPblog.
  • Conference organization, planning, and staffing
  • Working with external designers to develop marketing materials across print, web, social media, and email

About You

The ideal candidate must:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Understanding of, and demonstrable interest in, marketing, publishing, and/or libraries
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including editing and copywriting
  • Have strong IT skills, with an aptitude for picking up new systems quickly
  • Have exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and quickly
  • Good time management skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of creative content marketing and social media channels
